Massive sinus infection the day before I went skiing for the first time in my life. A week at altitude with a pounding headache and the front of my face feeling like it was about to explode. Woke up every morning with my face covered with snot (some days I had to wipe it off my eyes before I could see) and spent the days with my face blistering from the cold and constant blowing I had to do. Still had the time of my life though.

Absolute worst pain on its own would be the three or four days I spent with swimmers ear. Rented a house, had a lifelong friend over, the pool had not been maintained and was a hidden brew of bacteria. We both got horrendous swimmers ear in both ears and spent the rest of the week on the couch wincing in pain, keeping whichever ear had the medicine in at the time up watching the TV while our parents fretted. We were 13 at the time.
